AN ACT to add additional sections to Article —
of the Code of Public General Laws, Supple-
mental Vol. 2, title "Small Pox." |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the purpose of making more
effective the provisions of the Act of January Ses-
sion, 1864, for the better protection of the people
of this State against the ravages of small pox, the
sum of five hundred dollars be and the same is
hereby appropriated from any moneys in the Trea-
sury not otherwise appropriated, and the Comp-
troller of the Treasury is hereby authorized and
required to draw his warrant for the same. on the
Treasurer, in favor of the State Vaccine Agent,
payable in two installments, of two hundred and
fifty dollars each, payable on the first of May and
November next after the passage of this Act. |

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the State Vaccine
Agent be and he is hereby required to take all
steps which may be required to re-produce from
the cow, true vaccine virus for the use of the Phy-
sicians resident and practising medicine in the
State, and shall furnish none more than two re-
moves from the cow, and none which has not been
produced under his own supervision and direction;
provided, that he may take, use and furnish such
virus, direct from the cow, furnished to him by any
Physician entrusted by him; and the said Agent
shall annually report to the Governor the particu-
lars of his expenditures, and other matters con-
nected with the duties of his agency. |

Sec. 3. Be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage. |
