The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following:
By THE SENATE,

March 23,1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We purpose, with the concurrence of your Honorable body,
the appointment of the Secretary of the Senate to have the
Hall of the House of Delegates furnished with seats and
desks, and arranged for the meeting of the Constitutional
Convention as soon as practicable after it shall be ascertained
that said Convention is to meet, and the appointment of the
State Librarian to procure the necessary stationery for the
Convention.

Mr. Lankford submitted the following :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

March 23, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message, proposing the appoint-
ment of the Secretary of the Senate to have the Hall of the
House of Delegates furnished with seats and desks, and ar-
ranged for the Constitutional Convention, and the appoint-
ment of the State Librarian to procure the necessary station-
ery for the said Convention, and concur therein.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.

The bill entitled, an Act to make valid indentures and
contracts of apprenticeship executed since the first day of
January, 1855 ;

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Gorsuch moved to strike out the enacting clause ;

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Gorsuch moved to amend by excepting Frederick
county from the provisions of the bill ;

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Bishop moved to amend by excepting Washington
county ;

Which was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Carmichael,

The further consideration of the bill was informally post-
poned.

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal the Act of January ses-
sion, 1864, chapter 282, entitled, an Act to add the follow-
