Line 41, section 4, after the word "corporation," insert:
"the said corporators shall in addition to the contribution to
the School Fund hereinbefore provided, pay ten per cent, of
the gross receipts to the Treasurer of the State of Maryland to
be used for such purposes as the General Assembly may
direct;"

Which was read and rejected.

Mr. Stirling submitted the following amendment:

Line 41, section 4, insert after the word "corporation," "the
General Assembly shall at all times have the right to appoint
a committee to examine the books of said Company, so that
an estimate may be made of the profits of said Company, and
if said profits shall exceed twenty-five thousand dollars, the
said Company shall pay to the Treasurer of the State, twenty
per centum of such profits, to be used as said General Assem-
bly may direct:"
