290 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 20,

WEDNESDAY, February 20, 8 o'clock, P. M.

The President announced the order of the day, being the
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Cecil and Harford
Counties Boom Company;

The Special Committee to which said bill was referred, sub-
mitted the following amendments to the second section:

Sec. 2, line 3, strike out "three," and insert "five;"

Sec. 2, Line 8, strike out after the word "and," all to the
word "upon," in the ninth line;

Sec. 2, line 12, strike out "five," and insert "ten;"

Sec. 2, line 18, strike out the word "or," and insert the word

"for;"

Which were severally read and adopted.

Mr. Stirling submitted the following amendment:

Strike out all after the. word "shares," in line 16, sec. 2, to
the word "and," in line 17, and insert in lieu thereof, "by
making a rateable distribution of said one thousand shares
among the parties subscribing to said stock, provided however,
that no subscriber shall be reduced to less than one share of
said stock;"

The question upon the adoption of the amendment, was
Determined in the negative by yeas and nays as follow :
