Mr. Jones submitted the following message:

BY THE House OF DELEGATES,

March 21st, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

A committee of this House having investigated the condi-
tion of the boundary line on the Eastern Shore of the Chesa-
peake Bay, between the States of Virginia and Maryland,
find it unsettled and unmarked for several miles at the east
and west termini of said line. We have received informa-
tion that the Legislature of Virginia has appointed a Joint
Committee of their two Houses, to meet a similar committee
from the Legislature of Maryland, to settle and adjust the
said boundary line, their work to be submitted to the Legis-
latures of the said States, respectively, for approval or rejec-
tion, and we have adopted the recommendation of the com-
mittee of this House, to appoint two members of this House
and one of the Senate, to meet the Virginia Committee, for
the purposes aforesaid, and we have appointed Messrs. Isaac
D. Jones and William J. Aydelott on the part of this House,
and request your Honorable Body to name a member of your
body on said committee.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled an
Act supplementary to an Act entitled aa Act to provide for
the general valuation and assessment of property in this State;

Passed at the extra session of the General Assembly in the
year 1866, chapter 167 :

Endorsed, " passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments;

The amendments were concurred in,

And the bill as amended, passed by yeas and nays as fol-
low :
