On motion of Mr. Smith,
The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
Act to repeal an Act passed at the January session, 1867,
entitled, an Act to repeal the 4th, 7th, 15th and 20th sec-
tions of the 4th Article of the Local Laws of the city of Bal-
timore, relative to the qualification of electors in said city,
and regulating the times for holding elections for Mayor and
the members of the City Council, and the terms of, and the
time for entering upon the duties of said offices, and to re-
enact the same with amendments; and also to repeal the 4th,
7th, 15th, 16, 20th, 26th, 213th and 222nd sections of the
4th Article of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the
city of Baltimore and the election of Mayor and members of
the City Council of said city, their terms of office respec-
tively, the times of entering upon the duties of their offices
respectively, and to amend and re-enact said sections, and to
repeal an Act passed at January session, 1867, entitled, an
Act to repeal section 227 of Articje 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws relating to elections in the city of Baltimore,
and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to amend
and re-enact said section 227 ;
