After some time, the Sergeant-at-Arms returned, and re-
ported that he had notified all the absent members now in,
the city, and had brought them before the bar of the House.
On motion of Mr. Jones,

All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Mr. Brace moved that the House do now adjourn until to-
morrow morning at 10 o'clock;

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Ford moved, the previous question, which was sus-
tained.

The question then being, "Shall the previous question be
now put?" it was sustained.

The question then recurring upon the proposed amend-
ments.

The first amendment:

Amend sec. 1, sub-sec, 2, line 5, after the word "dollars"
insert "all necessary expenses, not to exceed two thousand
dollars."
