The Speaker laid before the House the memorial of W.
Cook, & Sons and other merchants of the city of Baltimore
against the passage of the proposed Act for the sale of the
State Tobacco Warehouses,

Which was read and sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled, an
Act to change the name of Mary Elizabeth Lewis, of Balti-
more city, to Mary Elizabeth Young,

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays," with proposed
amendment.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by adding after the word "is" in the third line of
