Gentlemen of the Senate:
The House of Delegates having refused to concur in the
amendments proposed by the Senate to the House bill enti-
tled , an Act to provide for the liquidation and settlement of
arrearages of pay due to the officers and men of the police
force appointed and organized under the act 1860, chapter 7,
that is to say, by striking out $10 and inserting $4 as the
pay of the Commissioner. We respectfully request your
honorable body to recede from said amendment.

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to add.a new section to,
Article 38 of the Code of Public,General Law. and to repeal
certain sections of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
"Bailiffs."

amendment.
