Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to limit the amount of sta-
tionery .furnished to members and officers of the General
Assembly, and to provide a system of commutation ;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Library.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to secure settlement with the
County Commissioners of the several counties and the Regis-
ter of the city of Baltimore, for Bounty Fund paid by the
Treasurer of the State into their hands under Act of 1864,
chapter 15, and also with the Maryland State County Com-
missioners for the said counties and city respectively, for
County Bounty funds placed in their hands under the Acts
of 1865, chapters 33 and 106, respectively;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Way's and Means.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to amend an Act entitled, an
Act to aid and encourage enlistments into the Maryland reg-
iments in the service of the United States, passed 1864, chap-
ter 15, and to provide for the prompt payment of the boun-
ties therein specified, and to repeal section 4 of said Act and
to re-enact the same so as to make the bounties therein speci-
fied payable to the widows and heirs of deceased soldiers, and
to make said bounties payable to the heirs of such soldier,
as, having been honorably discharged after faithful services
have died without receiving the benefits of its provisions ;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal Article 71 of the
Code of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland enti-
tled, "Oysters," and to re-enact the same with amendments;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Select Com-
mittee on Oysters.

Also returned the bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Baltimore and Hall's Springs Railway Company ;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments.

AMMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike o.ut the word ''Steam" whenever it occurs in the
bill;

Amend section 15 by adding after the word "passenger"
"That the General Assembly reserves to itself the right to
amend or repeal this Act at pleasure ;"

Which were informally postponed.

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to pay certain outstanding
debts against the National Road ;
