Gentlemen of the Senate :
In compliance with an Act passed at the present session of
this General Assembly we propose, with the concurrence oi
your honorable body, to proceed to-day at twelve o'clock to
elect by the joint meeting of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, three persons to constitute the Board of Police
Commissioners for the city of Baltimore. We have nomi-
nated on the part of the House, Lefevre Jarrett, James E.
Carr, and William H. B. Fusselbaugh, and. respectfully in-
vite your honorable body to meet us in the Hall of the House
of Delegates at twelve o'clock this day to proceed to said
election.

The Speaker laid before the House the following message
from the Executive :
