Which Was not sustained.

The order of the day, being the bill entitled, an Act to pro-
vide for the restoration of the records, indexes, dockets and
papers, destroyed or injured by fire in the office of the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore county ;

Said bill being upon a second reading,

The bill was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading; and,

On motion of Mr. Ford,

Was made the order of the day for to-morrow, Thursday,
March 7th, at 12 1/2 o'clock.

Mr. Nicolai, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
(the rules being suspended,) reported favorably) without
amendment, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to incorporate
the Elkton and Delaware Railroad Company ;

Which was read a second time, and,
On motion of Mr. Evans,

(The rules being suspended,)

Was ordered to a third reading.

Being upon its third reading,

Mr. Neale proposed the following amendment:

1st section, 14th line, strike out "three" and insert
one;"

Which was rejected.

Mr. Neale moved that the further consideration of the bill
be informally postponed and made the order of the day for
Thursday, at 12 o'clock ;

Which was not sustained.

Mr. Neale proposed the following amendment ;

In line 3, section 4, strike out "three" and insert "one ;"

Which was rejected.

Mr. Neale proposed the following amendment:

In line 2, section 5, strike out "three," and insert "one;"

Mr. Evans moved the previous question,

Which was sustained.

The question then being,

"Shall the previous question be now put,"

It was sustained.

The question then recurring upon the amendment proposed
by Mr. Neale;

It was rejected.

Mr. Neale moved that the House do now adjourn until to
morrow morning at eleven o'clock;
