On motion by Mr. Stephenson,
The rules were suspended, and

The Senate took up for consideration, the bill entitled, an
Act supplementary to the Act of 1866, chapter 24, entitled,
an act to authorize the Commissioners of Town of Havre de
Grace, to sell certain lots in said town;

Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment:

Section 2, line 5, strike out "15," and insert "6 per cent.
interest and 5 per cent, commissions;

Determined in the affirmative.

The bill was then read the second and by special order the
third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 152 of the 30th
article of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and
Punishments, sub title Fornication with Negroes," and to
re-enact the same with amendment;

Being under consideration;

Mr. Davis, of Caroline, submitted the following amend-
ment :

In line 152, after the word "child," insert "or if any white
man shall get any negro or mulatto woman with child;"

Mr. Bowie submitted the following amendment:

Strike out "negro or mulatto" in the first line, and
"white," in the third line of the amendment.

On the question being put, it was
