wards of the city of Baltimore, and the several Election Dis-
tricts of the counties for five days immediately preceding the
second day prior to any election hereafter to be held in this
State, whether State, Federal or municipal, and whether gen-
eral or special, from nine o'clock A. M. till five o'clock P.
M., for the purpose of discharging the duties imposed on
them by this Article; and they shall give notice of the time
and place of meeting, at least ten days before the day of their
first meeting, by publication in three newspapers in the city
of Baltimore, one of which shall be published in the German
language, and in one newspaper in each county, (in which a
newspaper is published,) having the largest circulation, as
may appear by their subscription books, the editor or pub-
lisher to furnish the same under oath to said Officer of Reg-
istration; and also by hand bills posted at such public places
as they may select in the several precincts of the city of Bal-
timore and Election Districts of the several counties, and in
case of making a change in the place of meeting, they shall
at once publish in said papers notice of such change, said
notices and publications to be paid for by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore and the County Commissioners of the
several counties.

Sec. 6. As soon as they shall have closed their sitting on
the second day preceding any election, the said officers of
registration shall immediately proceed to make, or cause to
be made, an alphabetical list of the qualified voters, and the
said lists shall then be finally closed for that election; and
two fair copies thereof shall be made, one of which shall be
lodged, by the officers of registration, with the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of the comity, and the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Baltimore city, and the other delivered to the Judges
of Election at or before the opening of the polls on the morn-
ing of the election; and in the city of Baltimore the said
officers of registration for the several wards shall seperate the
lists into precincts, and prepare their lists ol voters according
to the subdivisions of their respective wards into precincts,
designating the election precinct of the ward in which the
voters are, or shall be, respectively entitled to vote, and shall
deliver one copy of the list of voters for such precinct to the
Judges of Election for such precinct, as hereinbefore pro-
vided.

Sec. 7. The officers of registration shall lodge with the
Clerks of the Circuit Courts and the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Baltimore city, on or before the day of any election,
one copy of the list of qualified voters made out as directed
in the preceding section, which list shall be recorded by the
said clerk among the records of the said court, subject to
examination as other records of said courts; and they shall
also deposit with said clerk the said books of registration, to
