set county, and to add new sections thereto, ratifying and
confirming certain Acts of the Commissioners of said town and
for other purposes.

Mr, Whitaker Chairman of the Committee on Manufac-
tues, (the rules being further suspended,) reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to relieve and protect the operators or
laborers in the cotton factories of Maryland ;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. King, (the rules being yet further suspended,) re-
ported an Act relating to the opening and repairing of pub-
lic roads and the construction and repairing of bridges on the
same throughout the State;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Roads and Highways.

The bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Baltimore Yearly
Meeting of the Society of Friends, held on Lombard street,
in the city of Baltimore;

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follow:
