Which was read and referred to the Committee on Emi-
gration.

Mr. Gordy presented a memorial from thirty-five citizens
of Worcester county, remonstrating against the apylying of
any money approproved to works of internal improvement in
Worcester county, to works of internal improvement in
Somerset county;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpor-
ations.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the bill entitled,, an
Act to incorporate the village of the head of Sassafras in
Kent county, Maryland, by the name of Sassafras;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Kent and
Queen Anne's county Delegations.

On motion of Mr. Coleman,

Ordered, That the Comptroller report to this House, the
amount of fees paid into the Treasury by the Inspectors of
Guano, since the year 1852.

Mr. Boswell offered the following:

Ordered, That 20,000 copies of the report of the Superin-
tendent of Public Schools, be printed for the use of the Mem-
bers of this House; and that 5000 copies of said report be
printed in German, the same to be translated by Frederick
Raine of Baltimore.

Mr. Evans moved its reference to the Committee on Print-
ing;

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Hoffine proposed the following amendment:

Strike out "twenty" and insert "seven," strike out five"
and insert "two" in German.

Mr. Clark moved to make it the order of the day on Fri-
day, at one o'clock;

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Neale moved to strike out "seven" and insert "five
thousand;"

Which was decided in "the negative.

Mr. Davis, of Charles, moved to lay the whole subject on
the table;
Decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the amendment of Mr.
Hoffine,
