The bill entitled, an Act to repeal the seventh; fifteenth,
Sixteenth and twentieth sections of the 4th Article of the Pub-
lic Local Laws of the city of Baltimore; relative to the quali-
fication of Electors in said city, and regulating the time for
holding election for Mayor and Members of the City Coun-
cil, and the terms of and the times for entering upon the
duties of said office, and to reinact the same with amend-
ments,

The hour of twelve o'clock having arrived, the House on
motion of Mr. Hammond, in accordance with the Act of Con-
gress, chapter 245, entitled, an Act to regulate the time and
manner of holding elections for Senators in Congress, pro-
ceeded to hold an election for a Senator to succeed the Hon.
John A. J. Cresswell in the Congress of the United States.
