THE TAX REVISION COMMISSION
The Governor appoints five persons who shall constitute this Corn..
mission. They shall serve without pay and not more than three shall
be members of the same political party.
The duty of the Commission is to thoroughly investigate the sys-
tems of the State, county and municipal taxation in force at the pres-
ent time and especially to inquire into and ascertain the practical
operation and effect of such systems in the raising of adequate revenue
and how far the same work hardship or injustice.
The Commission shall report to the Governor by December 1, 1923,
and submit the draft of a general system of law providing for the im-
position and collection of revenue charges and taxes in the State of
Maryland. (Ch. 427,1922.)
