The Governor designates from the Justices of the Peace appointed

The Juvenile Court of the City of Baltimore was created in 1902,
at which time it is believed there were only two other Children's Courts
in the United States.

It has exclusive jurisdiction over children under the age of 16 years
and the general jurisdiction given by law to the Police Magistrates.

The powers conferred on the Court are very wide and ample for all
purposes, being in fact all that the Legislature can grant under the
restrictions of the Constitution.

The Court is in session from 10 A. M. each day, Sundays and legal
holidays excepted.
