the second Wednesday in January next ensuing his election (Constitu-
tion Art. 2, Sec. 2); the Secretary of State is appointed by the Gover-
nor, with consent of Senate, to hold office during the term of the Gover-
nor; all other officers are appointed by the Governor and hold their office
during his pleasure.
