The Governor appoints one Chief Veterinary Inspector, who holds
his office during the term of the Governor who appoints him. Senate
confirmation not required. (P. G. L., Art. 58, Sec. 5).

The Chief Veterinary Inspector is required to visit all the stables of
Baltimore City and of the counties whenever he has reason to believe
contagious or infectious diseases exist. He is the executive officer of
the Live Stock Sanitary Board.
