FORM FOR MESSAGE UPON DEATH OF MEMBER.

BY THE SENATE,

, 190 .

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of
an esteemed member of the Senate, the Hon. ————, of ————
county. As a further mark of respect the Senate will now
adjourn until ————, and at some future time further com-
municate to your Honorable Body such proper resolutions of
respect as the Senate may adopt, and if deemed practicable,
ask for a joint committee to attend the obsequies.
By order,

Secretary.

SENATE BILLS AMENDED BY THE HOUSE.

When a bill is returned from the House with amendments,
the question is taken upon the adoption of the House's
amendments. The proper motion then is, if the amendments
are agreeable to the committee which introduced the bill:

"Mr. President, I move that the Senate concur in the
amendments of the House." The question is taken upon the
adoption of the motion. If agreed to, the bill, as amended,
is passed by yeas and nays. If not agreeable to the commit-
tee, a motion that the Senate do not concur in the House's
amendments is the proper one, and if sustained by a vote ot
the Senate, the chairman of the committee submits for adop-
tion a message to the House substantially as follows:

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

The Senate having refused to concur in amendments pro-
posed by the House to the Senate bill entitled, (here insert
title) we respectfully request your Honorable Body to recede
from said amendments, and herewith return said bill.

Or,

The Senate having refused to concur in amendments pro-
posed by the House to the Senate bill entitled, (here insert
title) we respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
