So the motion was rejected. Mr. Chew called the previous question; Which was sustained. Mr. Darling moved that the House do now adjourn. The Chair (Mr. Markey) decided that, pending the call for the previous question, the motion to adjourn could not be entertained. Mr. Buhrman appealed from the decision of the Chair, The question being, "Shall the decision of the Chair be sustained:'" Mr. Smith, of Frederick, demanded the yeas and nays.
