The said bill was then sent to the Senate. The bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of money to reimburse Ex-Governor A. W. Bradford, for the destruc- tion of his property by the rebels in July, 1864; Was taken up for consideration on its second reading. Mr. Cronise submitted the following amendment: Amend by inserting in section 1, line 4, after the word "dollars," insert -'also, Samuel Mumma ten thousand dol- lars; Mrs. John Himes five hundred dollars, Mrs. Schackel- ford five hundred dollars." Mr. Miller of Washington, submitted the following amend- ment to the amendment: Amend, by adding Owen Ardinger six hundred dollars, Shoop and Lefever, nine thousand dollars, Dr. H. Zeller, three thousand dollars, John Farrow, one thousand dollars, Charles Embrey and son, four thousand dollars, John Nitzell one thousand dollars. The question being on the adoption of the amendment to the amendment; Mr. Cronise demanded the yeas and nays. The demand being sustained, The yeas and nays were called and. appeared, as follow:
