172 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 25,
Mr. Pilkinton from the committee on Registration to whom
was referred the petition of Samuel Whitford, and one hun-
dred and fifty others in favor of the repeal of the Registration
Law, reported unfavorably;
Which was accepted.
The same committee, to which was referred the memorial
of forty-five loyal citizens of Urbana district, Frederick coun-
ty, against any change or modification of the Registration Law;
Which was accepted.
Reported said memorial received.
Also, unfavorably sundry petitions of persons praying to be
restored to the rights of citizenship on account and for the
reason that the said memorials were not accompanied with
sufficient corroborative evidence of the statements made;
Which was accepted.
Also, unfavorably, the memorials of the following named
persons, viz: Peter Stack, Walter Hillen, James M. Beal,
Solomon C. Smith, Wm. M. Travers, and William G. Horsey,
Which was accepted.
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 16 and 29 of
article 74 of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
Pilots, and re-enact the same with amendments;
Was taken up for consideration on its second reading;
Mr. Tull moved to lay said bill over informally;
Decided in the affirmative.
The bill entitled, an Act to add new sections, relating to
the removal of causes, to article 75 of the Code of Public
General Laws;
Was taken up for consideration on its second reading;
On motion of Mr. McCauley,
The said bill was recommitted to the committe on the Ju-
diciary.
The bill entitled, an Act to compensate Isaac E. Pearson,
for services rendered as State's Attorney for Carroll county,
and also to refund to Joseph Lodgsdon, of E. certain money;
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to authorize James McCauley,
executor of Emily Galloway, late of Cecil county, deceased,
to pay to Samuel W. Vanculin, excutive officer of the Disci-
ples church of the city of Philadelphia, a legacy bequeathed
to the poor of said church by the last will and testament of
said deceased;
