6 Resolved, That the administration of the affairs of the .State Department during the four years of the rebellion, meets the unqualified approbation of this body, and having an abiding confidence in the matured ability and wise state- manship of the Honorable W. H. Seward, it awaits the de- velopments of the future in the firm persuasion, that sooner or later no foreign potentate or power, will be permitted to retain a permanent footing on the soil of any Republic of of this continent. -Resolved, That copies of these resolutions be transmitted to .our Senators and Representatives in Congress.
