AN ACT to ratify the proceedings of the County
Commissioners of Allegany County, directing
William Walsh, Trustee of John Callan, late
Collector, deceased to sell land for delinquent
taxes. |
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it is represented to the General As-
sembly of Maryland, as follows: That John Callan,
late Collector of State and County taxes for Alle-
gany, for eighteen hundred and sixty and sixty-
one, (1861,) departed this life prior to completing
the collection of said taxes for the year aforesaid,
and that upon application of the securities of said
John Callan in pursuance of the Code of Public
General Laws, the Circuit Court for said Allegany
County as a Court of Equity, which said proceed-
ings were ratified by Act of eighteen hundred and
sixty-one, Chapter ninety-five, (95) appointed
William Walsh to complete the collection of said
taxes, and whenever said William Walsh return-
ed to the County Commissioners of Allegany Coun-
ty certain lands delinquent for taxes due thereon,
and said Commissioners ordered a sale thereof for
the payment of the same, and whereas said Wil-
liam Wash, offered said land at public auction to
the highest bidder in pursuance of the proceedings
and orders of said County Commissioners aforesaid
to pay the said taxes, and reported his proceedings
to the said County Commissioners, and whereas
application has been made to ratify the proceed-
ings of said County Commissioners, and said Wil-
liam Walsh, trustee in the premises aforesaid
therefore, |
