property declared to be exempted from assessment
and taxation in and by the second section of this
Act; and further, to cause all property of every
description required by law to be assessed, and
which may have been omitted by the said Asses-
sors, or any of them, to be added to the said
returns; and to this end it shall and may be law-
ful for the said County Commissioners and the
said Board of Control and Review, and they are
hereby authorized, to demand from the owner or
owners of such property or from any banking
institution, either State or National, or other cor-
poration, the shares of whose capital stock, or any
part thereof, may have been so omitted as afore-
said, full and complete lists of said property, as
is provided by the said Act to which this is a sup-
plement, and under the penalties therein pre-
scribed for a refusal or neglect to furnish the same;


provided, that investments made in stocks for other
securities in the city of Baltimore by the inhabi-
tants of the counties of this State shall not be
assessed by the Assessors for said city, but shall
be assessed in the counties in which the holders of
such stock or securities may reside, and to the end
that the said Assessors, who are hereby authorized
to complete the assessment of property within
their respective assessment districts, and the said
County Commissioners and Boards of Control and
Review, may be enabled to assess private securi-
ties and bonds of this and other States held by
parries in this State .it their cash value, so much
of section nine of the Act to which this is a sup-
plement as fixes the market value thereof, as
quoted at the Baltimore Stock Board, on the fif-
teenth day of July next after the passage of said
Act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Proviso.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted. That the Assessors
authorized by the first section of this Act to com-
plete the assessment of property within their
respective districts shall complete the same and
make return thereof, as required and directed in
and by the Act to which this is a supplement, on
or before the first day of July next after the pas-
sage of this Act, and it shall be the duty of the
County Commissioners of the several counties and
the Boards of Control and Review of the several

Assessors to
make returns.
