the road progresses and not otherwise; provided,
that the said company may use or hypothecate
seventy-five thousand dollars of said bonds and no
more, for the redemption of an equal amount of
bonds now hypothecated, unless by the assent of
the county and State Directors, said bonds when
so redeemed to be held by said company subject to
the provisions of this section. |

take effect from and after the date of its passage. |

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County
Commissioners of Somerset County, to levy a
sum of money to build a bridge over the East-
ern Branch of the Wicomico River, at Salisbury. |
Authority to

the purpose of
building a
bridge. |
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners
of Somerset County be, and they are hereby au-
thorized and directed to levy a sum of money not
exceeding twenty-five hundred dollars on the as-
sessable property of the said county, to erect a
bridge over the East Branch of the Wicomico Ri-
ver, at Salisbury, at the place where the late
bridge stood, known as Camden Bridge. |
How bridge
is to be built. |
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That the said
bridge shall be built upon an arch or truso con-
structed of wood and iron, without resting or
posts, but resting on stone abutments. |
Commission-
ers appointed. |
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That Purnell
Toadvine, John White and William S. Parsons be,
and they are hereby appointed commissioners to
select a plan for said bridge, and to contract for
and superintend the building of the same, subject
to the ratification and approval of the said County
Commissioners, when finished. |
