as forbidden by said article seventy-one of the
Code.

Penalty for
violation.

Sec. 97. Any person taking oysters within the
waters of said county with a scoop, drag or dredge
without license, or who is not a citizen of said
county, or otherwise, contrary to any law of this
State, shall be subject to all the penalties provided
by law against the illegal taking of oysters in this
State.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Atlantic Fire and Ma-
rine Insurance Company of Baltimore.

Incorporated
—power and
privileges.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Andrew J. Bandel, Wil-
liam Carmichael, Joseph J. Robinson, George 1.
Kennard, O. Herring, Joshua Lynch, Samuel Mac-
cubbin, James Musgrave and James H. Bond, and
the subscribers to the stock of the company and
their successors, be, and they are declared to
be a body politic and corporate, by the name of
the Atlantic Fire and Marine Insurance Company
of Baltimore, and by that name shall have per-
petual succession, and be capable in law to sue
and be sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and
be answered, defend and be defended in all Courts
of law and equity or elsewhere, to make and use
a common seal, and the same to alter and renew
at pleasure, and generally to do and perform all
things relative to the objects of its institution
which is now or may be lawful for any individual
or body politic or corporate to do.

Capital stock
limited.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital
stock of said company shall consist of three hun-
dred thousand dollars, divided into thirty thousand
