effect in law. |
Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act of in-
corporation and every part thereof, and the pro-
ceedings of the Trustees in execution thereof, shall
have effect in law according to the true intent
and meaning of the same respectively, and shall
be construed, reputed and adjusted in all cases,
most favorably on the behalf and for the benefit
of the said Trustees and their successors, so as
most effectually to answer the objects and designs
of this Act, towards the advancement and promo-
tion of knowledge and virtue. |

Sec. 8. And ie it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. |

AN ACT to incorporate the Trustees of the Metho-
dist Protestant Sunday School of Chestertown,
and to authorize them to hold real and personal
estate. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William B. Usilton, William
O. Smith and John W. Collins of Kent county,
and their successors be and they are hereby incor-
porated by the name of "Trustees of the Methodist
Protestant Sunday School of Chestertown," and
by that name may take; have and hold real and
personal estate, not exceeding five thousand dol-
lars in value, and be capable in law to sue and bo
sued, to implead and be impleaded in any Court of
Law or Equity in this State; or before any Justice
of the Peace in Kent county, and that any property
held or acquired by them as aforesaid, shall, be for
the use, occupation and enjoyment of the Sunday
School Scholars, Teachers, Superintendent, Minis-
ters and Visitors of said School, under the direc-
tion and management of the Methodist Protestant
Church or society of said Town; but subject to the
control of the Methodest Protestant Church of the |
