STATE OF MARYLAND—City of Baltimore, Set.
MARK W. C. THOMPSON, Warden, and JOHN J. C. DOUGH-
ERTY, Clerk, of the Maryland Penitentiary, being this day
sworn by me, depose and say that the foregoing statements,
marked A, B, C, D and E, contain a true account of the
affairs of the said Penitentiary, for the- year ending 30th
Nov., 1865, to tile best of their knowledge and belief.

Sworn and subscribed before me,
W. H. HAYWARD, Justice of the Peace.
STATE OF MARYLAND—City of Baltimore, Sct.
I hereby certify, that W. H. HAYWARD, Esq., before whom
the annexed affidavits were made, and who has thereto sub-
scribed his name, was at the time of so doing a Justice of
the Peace of the State of Maryland, in and for the city of
Baltimore, duly commissioned and sworn.
In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand
[ Seal. ] and affix the seal of the Superior Court of
Baltimore city, this 2d day of January, A.
D.1866.
