Total 179. Of them were convicted for the first time 174, second 4, and for the sixth 1. Total 179. The highest number in prison at any time during the year was 432. The lowest number 380, and the average number 396. Of these pardoned, 50 were pardoned by Governor Brad- ford, the great majority had but a short time to serve. |
