the defeat of the Federal armies, at the first battle of Bull
Run; if yea, to whom and when?
Second interrogatory. Did you feel or express any regre
at the fall of Fort Sumpter; if yea, to whom and where?
Third interrogatory. Did you feel or express any gratifica-
tion at the capture of Vicksburg?
Fourth interrogatory. Have you ever felt or expressed any
gratification at any triumph of the Federal armies over the
Confederate armies; if yea, at what triumph?
Fifth interrogatory. Have you ever felt or expressed any
regret at the failure of the Federal armies, or at their
defeat by the Confederate armies?
Sixth interrogatory. Have not your sympathies during the
war been with those who were in rebellion against the gov-
ernment?
