What sort of conversation, walk and movements did you consider disloyal ? A. A man who talked in favor of the South, and want- ed the South to conquer over Union armies, and spoke unfa- vorably of the Union army in most all of his conversation. 4th. Did you always require proof of some witness either from the board or otherwise, of the applicant's having expressed a wish or desire for the triumph of armies of the rebellion over the federal armies ? A. We did not at all times from the board; when we all knew of it, then we did not; otherwise we did. 5th. Were not a man's speaking unfavorably or dispar- agingly of the Federal army, esteemed evidence of disloy- alty ? |
