by Benjamin Cawood to the state, £. 6 0 10 specie.  From Benjamin Harwood, trustee, for dividends
of interest and principal on stock, £. 11555 9 8 specie.
    That it appears to your committee, the said treasurer hath received from William Marbury,
agent, for bonds in the old loan-office £. 0 6 2 interest on 6 per cent. stock, 2830 dollars 77 cents
6 per cent. stock, £. 79 1 0 certificates for debts adjusted, interest on said certificates £. 3 0 4, and
£. 251 11 9 specie.  For confiscated property £. 9 3 10 interest on 6 per cent. stock, 16482 dollars
81 cents 6 per cent. stock, 1260 dollars 99 cents deferred 6 per cent. stock, £. 55 6 2 certificates
for debts adjusted, £. 10 14 1 certificates for debts against persons convicted of treason, interest on
said certificates £. 5 14 2, £. 23 13 0 bills of credit emitted by an act of June session, 1780, interest
on said bills £. 19 1 10, £. 24 18 9 bills of credit made by an act of congress March 18th,
1780, interest on said bills £. 19 1 5, and £. 1726 14 8 specie.  For taxes from the several collectors
£. 18 5 0 interest on 6 per cent. stock, 6616 dollars 15 cents per 6 per cent. stock, 282 dollars
deferred 6 per cent. stock, and £. 1508 13 9 specie.  For money loaned £. 535 12 4.  For bonds
taken for open accounts £. 1 10 10 interest on 6 per cent. stock, 1342 dollars 56 cents 6 per cent.
stock, 24 dollars 39 cents deferred 6 per cent. stock, £. 6 10 0 journal certificates, £. 37 10 0 certificates
for debt adjusted, interest on said certificates £. 16 16 6, and £. 181 8 2 specie.  From
Charles Steuart, on account, 947 dollars 39 cents.  From John D. Thompson 742 dollars 22 cents
6 per cent. stock, and 371 dollars 11 cents deferred 6 per cent. stock.  For fines and forfeitures
£. 1892 4 10 specie.  For marriage licences £. 265 3 71/2 specie.  For ordinary and retailers licences
£. 1285 7 71/2 specie.  For taxes under the act for the better administration of justice
£. 408 7 103/4 specie.  And for duties in the naval department the sum of £. 3380 19 2 specie.
    That it appears to your committee, certificates for the liquidation and payment of debts against
persons convicted of treason and British subjects, and the supplementary acts thereto, paid sundry
claimants, amounting to £. 65 0 0, and certificates for debts adjusted to the amount of £. 56 5 10.
    That your committee have counted and burnt the sum of £. 23 13 0 of the bills of credit emitted
by an act of assembly of the 8th June, 1780, and the further sum of £. 24 18 9 of the bills of
credit made by an act of congress of the 18th of March, 1780.
    That your committee have examined and cancelled certificates for debts adjusted to the amount of
£. 517 2 3, certificates for debts against persons convicted of treason amounting to £. 403 6 7,
and the further sum of £. 6 10 0 journal certificates.
    That it appears to your committee, by the accounts of said treasurer, he hath paid away, from
the first of November, 1795, to November the first, 1796, 3066 dollars 73 cents 6 per cent.
stock, 2254 dollars 46 cents 3 per cent. stock, 1502 dollars 91 cents deferred 6 per cent. stock, and
£. 52146 8 21/4 specie; for all which payments have been produced to your committee the necessary
vouchers and receipts; and that there remains in the treasury the sum of 337381 dollars 92 cents 6
per cent. stock, 259929 dollars 79 cents 3 per cent. stock, 60614 dollars 79 cents deferred 6 per
cent. stock, and £. 51980 12 41/2 specie; which sum of specie is appropriated in the manner following,
viz.

        To the following appropriations, viz.
            For repairing the stadt-house,
            For the payment of the civil list to 1st November, 1796,
            For five months pay due to the officers and soldiers of the late Maryland line,
            For half pay due to the officers and soldiers ditto,
            For pay due for services on board of the barges,
            For pay due to the armourers,
            For payment of the journals of accounts,
            For Saint-John's college,
            For the Patowmack canal,
            For payment of the adopted children of this state,
            For the justices of the district courts,
            For the redemption of the state certificates, it being the receipts for taxes,
                confiscated property, and on bonds in the old loan-office, appropriated 
                for that purpose,
            For the payment of the civil list, and other expences of government, for the
                ensuing year,

    That it appears to your committee there is the sum of £. 8850 0 0 in the treasury of the emissions
made by an act of congress of the 18th of March, 1780, it being part of the one tenth of
the bills that became issuable in exchange for old continental money, and appropriated for the purpose
of calling out of circulation the bills of credit emitted by acts of assembly and resolved of convention
of this state.
    That your committee find, by the last report, there was the sum of £. 3322 8 1 in said bills
remaining in the treasury, paid on account of British creditors; that since the time the treasurer
