The bill being read throughout, the question was
put, That the said bill do pass? Resolved in the
begs leave to report, that by order of the governor and council be received, on the 25th day of January, 1796, from the treasurer of the western shore, the sum of forty thousand dollars, and, on the 14th day of July following, the further sum of sixteen thousand dollars, which sums he hath, agreeably to law, vested in stock of the United States, bearing an immediate interest of six per cent. amounting to 62424,91/100 dollars, and transferred the same to the trustee of the state, as per abstract No. 1. That there hath been received, on account of confiscated property, from the 1st of January to the 1st of November, 1796, by the treasurer of the western shore, the sum of £. 4685 6 9, and by the agent, (and paid to the treasurer) the sum of £. 8548 5 1, amounting to the sum of £. 13233 13 10, as per abstracts No. 2. On account of taxes on the western shore, by the treasurer, the sum of £. 100, and by the agent (and paid to the treasurer) the sum of £. 4113 14 9, amounting to the sum of £. 4213 14 9, as per abstracts No. 3. On account of taxes on the eastern shore, by the agent, and paid to the treasurer of the said shore, the sum of £. 1537 8 1, as per abstract No. 4. On account of the emissions of 1769 and 1773, by the agent, and paid to the treasurer of the western shore, the sum of £. 1395 9 6, as per abstracts No. 5. On account of fines, forfeitures, marriage, ordinary and retailers licences, naval duties, &c. on the western shore, by the treasurer, the sum of £. 562 16 7, and by the agent, and paid to the treasurer, the sum of £. 7232 3 13/4, amounting to the sum of £. 7794 19 81/4, as per abstracts No. 6. On account of fines, forfeitures, marriage, ordinary and retailers licences, naval duties, &c. on the eastern shore, by the treasurer, the sum of £. 127 4 7, and by the agent, and paid to the treasurer of the said shore, the sum of £. 1319 0 31/4, amounting to the sum of £. 1446 4 101/4, as per abstract No. 7. On account of money loaned, bonds taken for open accounts, and for open accounts on the auditor's books by the agent, and paid to the treasurer of the western shore, the sum of £. 2064 15 3, as per abstracts No. 8. No. 9, Contains an abstract of bonds taken by the agent for the sales of confiscated property, and for property purchased at sales of sundry collectors of the tax, amounting to the sum of £. 4502 5 10, and delivered to the treasurer of the western shore. No. 10, Contains an abstract of bonds taken by the agent for the resales of confiscated property, amounting to the sum of £. 4596 19 1, and delivered to the treasurer of the western shore. No. 11, Contains an estimate of commissions allowed the agent, on the amount of receipts, &c. to the 1st of November, 1796. From which several statements it appears, the aggregate receipts on both shores from the 1st of January, to the 1st of November, 1796, amounts to the sum of £. 31686 6 0, and bonds taken to the amount of £. 9099 4 11. That there yet remains due to the state, from its citizens, on bonds installed, as follow:
