1796.
certificate hath been obtained from any other justices of the peace for the same;
and that it shall be the duty of each and every justice of the peace before whom
such head or heads may be brought by virtue of this or any other act now existing
for the destruction of crows, to take and receive the oath or affirmation of the
party bringing the same, free and clear from all charge against the person or
persons making such oath or affirmation, any thing to the contrary in any law
notwithstanding.

    III.  This act to continue and be in force till the twentieth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred.

CHAP. XL.
An ACT to increase the allowance fo the justices of the orphans
    courts, the commissioners of the tax, and the clerk to the
    commissioners, in the several counties of this state.
Passed December
30.
WHEREAS it is right and proper that a sufficient allowance should be
made to the justices of the orphans courts, the commissioners of the
tax, and the clerk to the commissioners, in the several counties of
this state, to compensate them for their trouble and expences; therefore,

    II.  Be it enacted,by the General Assembly of Maryland, That from and after
the passage of this act, each and every justice of the respective orphans
courts in this state shall be entitled to receive the sum of two dollars for every
day he shall attend in the execution of his office, and such allowance shall
be levied and collected in the same manner as other county charges are by law
collected.

    II.  And be it enacted, That each and every commissioner of the tax, and the
clerk to the commissioners, in the several counties of this state, shall be entitled
to receive the sum of two dollars for every day he shall attend in the discharge of 
his duty as commissioner, or as clerk to the commissioners, which allowance
shall be levied and collected as aforesaid.

    IV.  And be it enacted, That so much of the act of assembly passed at November
session, seventeen hundred and ninety-one, entitled, An additional
supplementary act to the act, entitled, An act to establish orphans courts in the
several counties of this state, which fixes the allowance of the justices of the
several orphans courts, and also that part of an act of assembly passed at November
session, seventeen hundred and ninety-two, entitled, An act for the valuation
of real and personal property within this state, which ascertains the 
allowance to the commissioners of the tax, and the clerk to the commissioners,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

    V.  This act to continue until the first day of October, in the
year one thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven, and until the end of the next
session of assembly which shall happen thereafter.

An ACT to ascertain the allowance of members of the general
    assembly, electors of senate, and electors of president and vice-president
    of the United States.
Passed December
30.
BE it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That four dollars and
fifty cents be allowed to the president of the senate and speaker of the
house of delegates, and three dollars and fifty cents to each member of
the general assembly, each elector of senate, and each elector of president and
vice-president of the United States, for every day's attendance as such, for the
purpose of defraying his expences, besides the accustomed itinerant charges and
ferriages.
