THE PRESIDENT: Are there any other
announcements ?
(There was no response.)
The delegates present now not present
on roll call may indicate their presence on
supplemental roll call. The Clerk will re-
cord the supplemental roll call.
(The roll was called.)
THE PRESIDENT: The Calendar and
Agenda for Monday is already printed. We
hope to make a good bit of progress in the
Committee of the Whole and beginning on
Tuesday, we will start second readers, so
that on Tuesday, the Convention will be-
gin to receive reports from the Committee
on Style, Drafting and Arrangement, and
act upon them.
This, we hope, will be a daily procedure
thereafter, so that we will be having each
day at least some action by the Convention
with respect to second reading of committee
recommendations and then follow through
with action by the Committee of the Whole.
Delegate Bamberger.
DELEGATE BAMBERGER: Mr. Presi-
dent, can you tell us now what second
readers will be before the Convention on
Tuesday?
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Powers,
can you indicate with reasonable certainty
which ones will be on for Tuesday?
DELEGATE POWERS: Yes, Mr. Presi-
dent. General Provisions 1 through 4, State
Finance and Taxation 1 and possibly Local
Government, LG-1.
THE PRESIDENT: Every effort will be
made on second readers where we have had
two or three committee recommendations
with the same article to combine them so
that we can have consideration of the en-
tire article at one time on the second
reader.
Are there any further announcements?
The Chair recognizes Delegate Powers.
DELEGATE POWERS: Mr. President,
I move that we adjourn until 2:00 P.M. on
Monday.
(The motion was duly seconded.)
THE PRESIDENT: All in favor signify
by saying Aye; contrary, No. The Ayes
have it. It is so ordered.
(Whereupon, at 0:20 P.M. the Convention
was adjourned to reconvene at 2:00 P.M. on
Monday, December 11, 10C7.)

PLENARY SESSION
DECEMBER 11, 1967—2:10 P.M.
PRESIDENT H. VERNON ENEY,
PRESIDING
THE PRESIDENT: The Sergeant-at-
Arms will clear the aisles and close the
doors.
The Convention will please come to order.
We have delayed starting this afternoon
because the minister who was to deliver
the invocation has obviously been delayed.
At least he is obviously not here, and we
are unable to reach him; therefore, we will
have to proceed.
Accordingly, we will ask Delegate Price
to give the invocation today.
DELEGATE PRICE: May we pray:
Our Father, we confess that we have
become enamoured with the thrills of the
day and softened by the comforts of the
age, and as a result we sometimes lose
sight of Thy strength against the enemy
of our soul.
We have sought after the acclaim of
men, but have not sought to be true to
Thee.
Fondly have we imagined on earth that
we have eternal habitation. Foolishly have
we planned for tomorrow as though our
days would have no end.
We acknowledge that our feverish ef-
forts result from a loss of a vision of
Thee. Make us willing to tell You all
things and eager to hold fast to that which
is good. Save us from the coldness of the
indifferent and the heat of the fanatic,
and make each of us to remember that
Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and
the Glory forever.
Amen.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you.
Roll call.
Has every delegate answered roll call?
The Clerk will record the roll call.
There being a quorum present, the Con-
vention is in session.
The Chair recognizes Delegate Powers,
Chairman of the Committee on Calendar
and Agenda.
DELEGATE POWERS: Mr. President,
I move the adoption of today's calendar.
