DELEGATE BENNETT: Yes, sir.

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, I would think it would

4

be debatable and treated as any other motion. Any further

5

inquiry? There was distributed today and you should have

6

on your desk the memorandum listing the names of Convention

7

personnal and their salaries. This is the memorandum

8

that, with a few minor changes to up-date it, was made

9

public several weeks ago, when it was given to the

10

Committee on Convention Rules, Budget, and is the one

11

which I referred to last Friday and said would be ready.

12

There is also on your desk a memorandum from

13

me to each delegate enclosing a copy of a letter from

14

the District Director of Internal Revenue with respect to

15

the inclusion for income tax purposes of the expense

16

allowance of delegates. 1 suggest that you read the letter

17

very carefully, I would like to add that it seems to me

18

that the letter does not fully answer several of the

19

inquiries wnich some of the delegates had in mind and I

20

have requested the District Director of Internal Revenue

21

for an elaboration. This pertains particularly to the
