I think it is very important to all of us here,
we have now agreed to give these legislators a great deal
higher salary. WX have now tried to give them advisability,
i and I don't think it is up to us now to let them be permitted
in the future to duck their vote, and so that the public
doesn't know it. Let's turn this amendment down. I don't
like a lot of garbage in the Constitution either. I want !
less and less words but it may be important and it seems
to me it has gotten more important as the day has worn on j
to vote this down.
THE CHAIRMAN: Are you ready for the question?
The question arises on the adoption of Amendment
Number 20. The Clerk will ring the quorum bell. A vote
Aye is a vote in favor of the amendment. A vote No is a
vote against. Cast your vote. [
Has every Delegate voted? Does any Delegate
desire to change his vote?
Mr. Boyce votes No. The Clerk will record the
vote.
THE CHAIRMAN: There being 50 votes in the
affirmative and b9 in the negative, the motion fails. The
