I have received from a number of delegates
a request that they be considered for appointment to
the Committee on Public Information. I cannot possibly
appoint to that committee everyone who has requested it,
but if any of you particularly desire appointment to
that committee, I would be glad to consider your name,
if you will leave a note with one of my secretaries and
a brief statement of the reasons for your interest.

DELEGATE POWERS: Mr. President, I am pleased
to announce that one of our efficient young pages, Miss
Stephanie Harmon, Montgomery Blair High School, Mont-
gomery County, Maryland, is celebrating her 17th birth-
day today. I am sure we all join in extending our hearty
congratulations to the young lady.
