DELEGATE JAMES: I would like to amend the
motion and make it 8:00.
(Whereupon, the motion was seconded.)
THE CHAIRMAN: I think the Chair has misled
all of you, because the time as of which this Committee
reconvenes is up to the Convention and not the Committee.
The only thing in order is a motion to rise,
and then the time will be fixed by the Convention.
Delegate Sherbow.
DELEGATE SHERBOW: I rise on a matter of per-
sonal privilege. I note this motion is not debatable. I do not intend to debate it, but I could not leave this
hall without saying this, that the statement I made in the
debate quoting Governor Agnew is a literal quotation from
the address that he delivered before this Constitutional
Convention at the State House, Annapolis, Maryland, September
29, 1967, at 2:00 p.m.
As you will find on page 4 in the fourth para-
graph thereof, it is a literal quotation and not in any
way -- I know nothing of what took place before the com-
mittee. |
