protection forum right now under the Attorney General?
THE CHAIRMAN; Delegate Key.
DELEGATE KEY: As I said before, the present law
iLL
is a beginning, but I think if this is eonafeituted, the
legislature will look further into those practices which
are not fair to consumers and have laws to take care of then
first of all.
Secondly, it will give some strength and teeth
to those agencies that are supposed to be doing their
job.
THE CHAIRMAN: Delegate Cardin.
DELEGATE CARDIN: Would you not feel it is
the voice of the public that would give the strength and
force to the legislature rather than the written word?
They already have the right to do this.
i THE CHAIRMAN; Delegate Key.
DELEGATE KEY: I don't think so, Delegate Cardin. I think we have been living for more than 100 years
with protection for the business and merchant and the
producer and I think the interest of the consumer is too
diversified and too scattered to become an organized voice |
