THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Kiefer?
DELEGATE KIEFER: Mr. President, tomorrow
afternoon, Chief Judge Dulany Foster will appear before
the Committee to speak to us on the question of verdict
in both criminal and civil matters, and perhaps touch
some other matters in connection with jury trial, both
criminal and civil. The Committee has tentatively
drawn up a complete list of dates for hearings, on the
various subjects with which it is concerned. This is
available at the Public Information Office. I hope
that all of the delegates who might want to appear or
suggest witnesses in any of these areas of personal
rights check this list or check with the Committee. There
is still, of course, opportunity for people to be heard,
but we must draw a line somewhere, and I would hope
that people who do want to be heard get in touch with
the Committee promptly.
