Delegate Proposal No. 108. The Clerk will
read the proposal.
MR. QUILLEN: Delegate Proposal No. 108, by
Delegate Fox, A proposal that the prohibition against
lotteries contained in Article III, Section 36 of the
Maryland Constitution be retained and enlarged so as to
not only bar grants by the General Assembly of authority
to private corporations or individuals but also to
prevent the initiation of a lottery by the State or any
of its political subdivisions.
THE PRESIDENT: Proposal No. 108 is referred
to the Committee on State Finance and Taxation.
Delegate Proposal No. 109. The Clerk will
read the proposal.
MR. QUILLEN: Delegate Proposal No. 109, by
Delegate Johnson, A proposal that the provisions of
Article III, Section 13 of the present Constitution con-
cerning vacancy in office of a Senator or Delegate be in-
corporated in the new Constitution.
