members of the Staff, to some errors, either typographical
or otherwise in the transcript. It is not necessary
that these errors be corrected on the floor. They are
largely errors of spelling or misunderstanding of a name,
or a matter of that sort. We are, however, very anxious
that the final complete transcript which will be printed
be as free of all error as possible. I would therefore
urgently ask you when you read the transcript, any part
of it, if you note an error of any kind, if you will
simply either pick up the phone and call one of the
secretaries in my office or drop a short memorandum call-
ing attention to the error; all you have to do is give us
the page and line and very briefly what the error is. We
are accumulating these. Do not assume that the error is
so obvious that someone else will pick it up, and there-
fore you don't have to mention it, because it is quite
often these most obvious errors which are missed by
almost everyone; so no matter how minor, no matter how
inconsequential it may seem, it would be a real service to
the Convention if you will take the trouble, either to
telephone my secretary or give me a memorandum of it. |
