after the period add this new sentence:

"The election of a governor shall constitute

the election for the same term of the lieutenant governor

who was listed on the ballot with him at the general

election. "

THE PRESIDENT: The amendment is submitted by

Delegate Morgan, seconded by Delegates Adkins and Chabot.

DELEGATE MORGAN: Mr. President, this amendment

12

is designed to take care of an oversight on the drafting

13

of the executive article. We provided for the tie vote

14

in the case of the governor, the comptroller, or the

15

attorney general, but didn't provide for what happened

16

in the case a governor was elected on a tie vote by the

17

General Assembly, but there was no provision made for the

18

lieutenant governor, and this is simply to fill that void.
