that to the greatest extent possible the amendments
be printed in advance.
We will follow this procedure. Mr. Phillips
for the time being will be the staff adviser to assist
you in preparing amendments. You do not have to write
out the amendment in formal language. Simply let him
know what amendments you want, let him know as soon as
possible. He will see that the amendment is printed.
He will deliver to the Delegate proposing the amendment
a printed copy or as many additional printed copies as
the Delegate wants. That will let the Delegate know
that his amendment has in fact been printed.
The remaining copies, all of which will be
unnumbered, will be retained until the session at which
the amendment may be pertinent. At that time the amendments
will be in the possession of the chief page. When the Dele-
gate offers his amendment it will then be read across the
desk, will be numbered and simultaneously will be distributed
to the Delegates.
If amendments are necessary to be prepared
in the course of the session, we will follow the same |
