That's one reason I would suggest rejecting

this amendment. Secondly, as Delegate Needle has very

properly stated, this is the initiative amendment,

4

exactly the same thing we previously rejected on the

5

amendment section. If anything, I would have much

6

preferred to have initiative on amendment to the

7

constitution rather than calling the convention itself for

8

a special interest group, with a well-heeled financial

9

campaign, could do great chaos to the Free State of

10

Maryland.

I believe for consistency's sake and many

12

other reasons, I would suggest rejection of this amendment

13

D.

DELEGATE NEEDLE: Simply for the purpose of

clarification, I did not delete any other portion of the

18

committee recommendation. This is simply a sentence to be

19

added. I do not think it is inconsistent with any other

20

portions of the committee recommendation.
